Specimen Observations
Stahlianthus Involucratus is easy to grow. I purchased a one gallon pot and it has steadily multiplied. The leaves are narrow maybe an inch across and it eventually gets 12 to 18 inches high. Stahlianthus Involucratus has a beautiful maroon color and can be a great backdrop to some of the smaller gingers such as Curcuma Pink Pearls and Globba Bamboo Leaf or an accent to the larger gingers.
Stahlianthus Involucratus is the only specimen of this genus I have and I am looking for others.
Date Acquired: 2002-06-01
Culture:
Stahlianthus Involucratus seems at home with my Kaempferias in the shade or with my Curcumas which get about three hours of direct sunlight. I keep them in beds which are made up of a well draining sand, topsoil, composted bark, and manure potting mix.
Zone: At least 9
Color: Red, Marroon, Purple
