Curcuma x
Rasperry

Specimen Observations

Curcuma ‘Raspberry’ was almost forgotten. I have next to C. alismatifolia and until it bloomed it was neglected. The inflorescence is a riotous purple – red and relatively large. The flowers are the same color; several shades lighter and have yellow throats.

Common Name: Rasperry ginger

Date Acquired: 2001-05

Culture:

Curcuma ‘Raspberry’ gets 4 to 5 hours of direct sun. It is in a raised bed in high quality well draining soil. It is watered automatically everyday. In 2003 it was not fertilized.
